And I think I'm going to get my hair cut.  Short.  Really short.  Maybe this afternoon.

Work is mercifully slow today enabling me to continue the setup stuff of my work computer.  I learned long ago that while tweaking everything just so was fun, it pays big time in the long run to use as many defaults as possible.  Even so... I do way more tweaking than I realized.  And finding that one button that turns on line numbers in this one esoteric tool I use is just as hidden now as it was last time I spent 30 fucking minutes looking for it a year ago.  Sigh.

I remember eons ago... When I first heard about personal computers in the early 70's, one of the tidbits that tickled my fancy, for some reason, was the idea that you could remap the keyboard.  No longer did you have to be chained to the QWERTY keyboard.  I can remember sharing this amazing news with my mother.  'Why in the hell would you want to do that??' she said, dismissing my amazement as silly.  And I did not know.  I just knew I thought it was very cool that you could.

In my sad state of yesterday I got an email reply from the woman collecting alumnae news from my high school.  I thought my reply had been sufficiently cold enough so that she would never dare to come back again.  But, she did.  And with a very nice, simple note explaining the delay in a nice and friendly way and asking if she could write about me in the alumnae news and if I would mind if she shared my email address with others in my class.  Her note was so un offensive and tactful and nice that I said ok.  I'll probably regret it at some point and for some reason but I did it and it's done.

And this could easily mean that my classmates could find these pages.  Hi, ladies.  Be nice and I won't hurt you.

Someone needs to do some additional mellowing, methinks.

Did you cut your hair?
If you did, do you have a picture?
