It is always so much fun to get a new shipment of teddy bear yarn.  All yarn is fun but when you are making sweaters or afghans or hats or socks you pretty much need to worry about how the finished item will look with your other clothes and/or your furniture.

I remember some kind soul made my Mom a crochet lap robe that she used constantly.  It was the ugliest thing on the face of the earth.  Goodwill would have said 'no, thank you' but it kept Mom's feet warm and it was a perfect size.  Finally, when I could stand it no more, I went to Target and bought her a beautiful lap robe and told her that she could use the ugly thing when I was gone but it was going to live in the closet when I visited.  I never saw it again.  Whew.

The yarn I use for my teddy bears has to be machine washable, soft and, it helps, if it is not too expensive.  All that is for the bears.  For me, it needs to be in wonderful colors.  A wide variety of wonderful colors.  My eyes demand it.  Today's bounty makes my eyes very happy.

I'll look forward to seeing an "after" picture, with all the bears made up. ;-)

I love the photo. It makes a nice icon. I love seeing photos and also hearing about the bears. A friend of mine made a wonderful knitted dragon for me in college. I don't know /what/ happened to it. I know that you donate your bears, but would ever consider selling one to someone in Colorado? They are just so very dear, AND, you seldom see homemade toys. It could support the yarn and eye buying for future bears.

Also, still loving very much hearing about the workouts -very inspiring!

That yarn is gorgeous. Looking at it makes my eyes happy too - and I don't knit or do anything else that would use yard. It's just such pretty colors, and so very - I have no better word - soft on the eyes.
