When I brought my new baby home from the hospital....29 years ago....I would be holding him and my cat would jump up and sit on him to get his usual attention. I'd be doing a crossword puzzle and he'd jump up and lay on the paper. I believe they figure, if you're looking in that direction for that long, you should be looking at them. And why not? They're the center of the world.
