The perfect party

unzeugmatic throws a wonderful party.  He had tons of fabulous food and he had it all organized perfectly and he had marvelous interesting guests.  It was just an amazing good time.  His friend, Lee, had a great new camera and took what looked to be very wonderful pictures and promised a URL. 

There was a lot of really good wine and I had my share.  Since Rosie will be pounding my ass tomorrow, I think I'm going to drink a gallon of water (my Dad's hangover prevention tip) and go to bed.  But it was great great fun.

Actually, my cousin and her husband are on their way here to stay the night after coming to town to see George Carlin. So I'm technically tied to the home at the moment -- as I need to be here to let them in!

It was an "appetizer and wine" party, scheduled for 6-9. Folks stayed until 9:30 or so. Susan turns in early, although she says I could have scheduled things later if I'd wanted to.

I actually didn't get back to my hotel until 1:30 am, after some post-party bar-hopping with three of the other guests, as Susan notes.

There actually is a rationale for the water cure for a hangover. Alcohol suppresses ADH (anti-diuretic hormone), which causes you to pee more, which causes dehydration. Rehydrating will thus reverse your alcohol-induced dehydration, and ease up on the hangover symptoms.
