Another chapter in the continuing Susan Dennis Happy Customer saga...

I placed an order at http://www.newegg.com yesterday and, at an appropriate place in the process, I was given the option of paying $2.99 for a rush order. I love this. It's a payoff to cut in line! I'm usually way too cheap to pay for faster shipping because, generally, it's 75 to 200% more than non-faster. But, $3? I wanted this item sooner than later so I said, Heck Yeah.

Well, I sure got my $3 worth... First of all I got nice emails explaining the process along the way. They said that if I ordered before noon Pacific time (which I did not), and everything checked out, they would ship that day. So I figured they would ship out today. WRONG. Last night I got the coveted tracking number! They shipped it out yesterday. It will be here Friday.

So this morning, I sent them this:

Dear Newegg, Your $3 accelerate my order fee is brilliant. The price point is perfect. I hate to pay extra shipping fees but somehow $3 to get to the head of your processing line seems totally fair. Mostly I won't use it but yesterday I really wanted fast service and I was delighted to discover it. Your expedited service was even better than you promised since it was after noon Pacific when I ordered and you still shipped out yesterday. Please add my name to you Most Happy Customers list and know that Newegg has now moved to the top of my places to shop list.

NewEgg is THE best, BAR NONE!

Oftentimes, I don't pay the extra $3, and it STILL ships that day.

I've never had a problem that I've had to contact them for customer service, and have ordered from them numerous times.

I usually "shop around" for my electronics, but it seems as though I always end up at NewEgg.

Even though they don't ALWAYS ship the same day, they ship within 24 hours (unless it's a weekend). Overstock.com, OTOH, takes 4 business days to ship. I recently bought a GPS from them (better price at the time due to a coupon); I ordered on a Wednesday, and it shipped the following Tuesday. Had it been Newegg, I would have gotten it before the beginning of the next week. Lesson learned; if I want it promptly, go to Newegg.

I remember Egghead; I bought some stuff from them online in the mid to late 90's; I think they had an online auction...

Thanks for that bit of info. I've never shopped with Newegg before, and I'm looking at ordering some processors from them.

Newegg is great. I've never had a bad shopping experience there.
