My wonderful project manager sent me over 5 bugs that needed to be done to day and said the rest can wait.  I did the 5 and I'm letting the rest wait.  I'm tired.

I just noticed that Thanksgiving is next week.  Wow.  I spent 6 Thanksgivings in a row flying across the country to take Mom out for turkey.  I miss Mom a lot but I so do not miss those trips.  I am so very grateful to be spending my second year in a row right here.  Sherry and Lee will be going to Yakima to Sherry's family, so I'll be cat sitting.  That's plenty of obligation for me.

--

Pre Monday night football action is reving up in the parking lot.  It is so nice to have an unobstructed view.  The front door TV network reveals that there are a whole lotta visitors in this building right now with Seahawks jerseys and carrying beer.  I could probably go door to door in the building and find some excellent parties.

--

But, I think I won't.  I'm going to stay here and watch the news and then Project Runway.  No that it is the talk of the town - there's a hottie who's from just across the lake in this year's contestant bin - I have to either ignore it all together or watch it live or nearly live.  Recording and watching in a day or two just is not going to work.  It's ok.  I can handle one live show.

EDIT: Ok, so I won't be watching Project Runway until Wednesday. TiVo has seriously harmed my ability to keep track of what's on when.

I am too tired to think.

I don't blame you for enjoying staying home at Thanksgiving. I can't say I'm terribly excited about hauling ass out to Phoenix for Christmas.

Hey Susan, This is YNTTN. Have you been to Ravelry.com? It's a knitting site that operates as a yarn and pattern resource, keeps track of your yarn stash, forums, etc. It's really cool. It's in beta testing now, you get on the waiting list and they will send you an invite. It took about a month to make it to the top of the list, but I heard it's getting much faster; their goal is a couple of days. It's really a great site, lots of search and recording methods. It might be a busman's holiday for you, but I'm wasting tons of time there, and happily so!

Thanksgiving!

It's YNTTN again. I'm am completely dreading t-giving. It means spending the day with my ex and trying to keep a civil tongue in my mouth. I wish it was a big, long trip - it would give me an o-u-t!

My wife and I are thinking of offering to host Thanksgiving this year. My mother usually does it, but she had a cataract out recently and has another minor surgery just before Thanksgiving (unless the hospital messes with the schedule). She might not be up to it.

As for Project Runway, I'd say that since it's a non-scripted show, it's nice to delay viewing at least 24 hours in support of the writers' strike. Ad prices are linked to ratings, and ratings of shows viewed with digital recorders are adjusted based on when they're viewed. Live views are worth much more than any recorded viewing; the recorded categories are up to 24 hours, up to three days, up to seven days, and anytime after that. Or something like that. Skipping ads may also reduce network revenue, but it depends on just how closely the company monitors your recorder's reports.

Fair enough; no offense taken. Consider the comment nothing more than advice on how a person can support the strike if that person supports it. We can leave the question of whether you support it or not a matter to be left off the record.

I've chosen to be obligation free for holidays, too. My family drifted apart long ago and there are very few of us left. My two brothers and I happen to be the family recluses, too, so even though we keep in touch by phone and occasional visit now, we are happy enough to keep things that way.

It's actually a relief to have gotten off that particular holiday roller coaster. :)
