And this is why...
Jan. 8th, 2003 11:56 amI have a mole on the top of my head. I'd like it to not be there any more. It's been there for about 3 years and I'm tired of it. I finally decided today to look into the complexity of getting rid of it.
I started with the 3" thick envelope of insurance crap they gave me at work. I could not make heads or tales out of it. So I went to the office manager to ask her advice. She said 'I know just the answer'... She had about 200 moles and age spots taken off last Fall - it cost $100 and she was crazy about the doctor and it could be that our insurance will pay for it. She gave me the doctor's name and phone number.
I called. I waited on hold. I finally got someone who said this doctor had a new number. I called that number. I waited on hold. I finally got a person and told her what I was after and she said that the doctor couldn't take any patients unless they were clinic patients. Was I a clinic patient? No. All I have to do is sign up and go see a clinic doctor who will then refer me to this doctor if the clinic doctor thinks I need it.
All I want is someone to take off this fucking mole!!!!! I don't want a clinic doctor or any other kind of anything at all. Just someone look at the damn thing, tell me if it can be taken off, take it off or tell me to go home and live with it.
Is this too much to ask????? And this is why I do not participate in the medical community.

I have had some stuff removed. Pre-cancerous or just plain nothing that they thought was something. First time i got all worked up and it did not even hurt.
Hats off to you for wanting to get this done.

Date: 2003-01-08 04:07 pm (UTC)Susan, the office manager (all the cool people here are named Susan), is going to do some research. She said she did not have to have a referral or anything. Then I have one other thing I might try - a different doctor. Then I am totally giving up and going cone head.
