Lost Mail

I use SpamCop to filter my email. For months and months I had it set just scrub out the obvious but too much crap was getting through. Oddly enough I'm happy with the current size of my penis. So I set it to scrub out everything except email addresses that are on my white list.

I have a URL for checking it all and whitelisting what should go through and killing what shouldn't.

This morning I realized I was waiting to hear from the 'girls' at the mortgage company, the Tivo harddrive folks and a couple of others and hadn't heard a peep. Of course, they were all patiently waiting for me at SpamCop. Duh.

yep. I have to go check my junk mail folder every now and then, just in case. And stuff creeps in there that shouldn't be there. There are no perfect spambusters, from what I see.

We went to a whitelist several months ago. And to avoid losing too many valid emails that I forgot to put in the whitelist, I have my firewall put all non-whitelisted emails in a trash folder and email me a summary of the From: and Subject: lines each day. A quick skim through that and I easily catch the ones that should have gotten through.

And the whitelist has been a great solution. Junk mail essentially doesn't get through.
