Napping right on top of the sweater I wore yesterday in the middle drawer of the dresser. She seemed a bit annoyed that we interupted her nap!

I got home from work and called around again. And then I called Lee who came right up from downstairs (turns out she was getting ready to clean toilets and even gave that up to come help - I did wonder why she was so fast with the 'be right up!'). She and I, armed with flashlights looked everywhere and called out.

Then we said we go from one end of the house to the other and open up every single door and drawer and we'd both look in each. We did the living room. We did the kitchen. We did the bedroom. We got to the hallway and I there she was. Lee and I were both in tears. Actually so was Jake. His hopes for being the only cat were dashed again.

Whew! From now on I will

1. Not put my clothes away again ever. (And I think I'll blame my Mom for teaching me this stupid habit in the first place.)
2. We shall have a 'goodnight JohnBoy' rollcall every night.
3. We shall take attendance every morning.
4. There will be no roaming the halls without a pass.
5. There will be more rules after I have a drink.

yay!

the roll call is a good idea--i do this myself just to be sure (my home is on a busy street near two freeways so if one of mine got out it could be disastrous!)

Congrats! Glad you found her. It is always traumatic to lose a friend.

You realize, of course, that having a "goodnight JohnBoy' rollcall" dates you?

WOOT!

I was about to post in [livejournal.com profile] seattle on your behalf, but good thing that is not needed! I hope Betty will be more considerate and leave a note the next time she decides to go napping in exotic places! Silly Betty!

Thank goodness I was worried and glad to see she's ok. My cats are forever getting stuck in the bedroom closet! I'm terrified that one will get stuck when I leave for NZ and won't be found for weeks!

I'm glad you found Betty. Losing track of her must have made for an anxious day.

Yay!

I'm so glad Betty's safe and sound! Darned cats...:) Mine drive me nuts on a regular basis, but I couldn't live without 'em.

Susan ...as all this happened overnight for me I have only JUST caught up with it (now 7.48am in UK) so I am very tardy in saying:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

So happy that the baggage has at last turned up :)

I reckon it was a ploy to make you and Jake appreciate he ...typical cat behaviour if you ask me :)

Oh Yay. I'm so happy to hear the good news, Susan. :) I shut a drawer on one of my cats years ago and it was a day before I found her, too. Whew. You must be so relieved.
