Sung to the tune of Pinball Wizard?

My Tivo has a new harddrive. I am so proud. It was, of course, a nothing burger after all the stressing I did. But, I am proud. Those little elbow screwdrivers are hard to work with but I conquered them. The whole thing took 20 minutes. The setup took another 30 and the download about 15. Now I have to wait for Tivo to get itself organized before I can introduce myself and start our new relationship. They say 4 to 6 hours but I'm pretty sure it won't be that long.

Moving on down the todo list...

Congrats. I, too, am more of a software person than a hardware person, so I understand the stress.

Q: How many software engineers does it take to change a light bulb?

A: None. That's a hardware problem.

Elbow screwdrivers? You mean Allen Wrenches? I almost never delve into hardware. Just software. I change my own ink cartridges. That is the extent of my hardware experience. I helped with an ethernet card at work. I suggested we get new computers like I did with the ethernet installed. My old computer I took to work had one installed because of my cable connection. (I am off on a tangent, sorry, my age you know)

I am proud of you. Today, you rule!! ( Tommy uses the word "fucktard" I like it as much as fuckchop. ) LOL. Good word.

I grew up in a family strictly paranoid about doing anything themselves. Rear car tail light out? Take it to the service station. Garbage disposal not working? Call a plumber.

Then there was me...Taking everything apart at any opportunity.

To this day, they are still amazed and horrified when I say "Let me take a look at that for you" and start unbolting/unscrewing covers...Just to take a gander and see if there's a quick fix.

Bravo to you...Getting the confidence and gaining the experience of doing such stuff. You're on your way to becoming the next Tim "The Toolman" Taylor!

Susan: "See? I told you that fixing the garage door opener would be easAAAAUGGGHHH!!!"
