Gym Report - cardio
Feb. 29th, 2008 08:54 amToday's treadmill was tough.
My gym trick is that it is the first thing I do every morning. So I don't really think 'should I go?', I just get out of bed, brush my teeth, put on my gym clothes and go. And my routine is pretty set - Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays = cardio - Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays = strength.
But sometimes I just don't feel like it. Yesterday, I wasn't interested in the strength stuff but could have been ok with the treadmill. Today, I really wasn't interested in any of it. I hope on the treadmill and set it up and get going and then I take off my jacket and plug in my earphones and turn on my book and settle in. After a while I glance down to see my time. On a good day, I have done at least 10 minutes before I'm bored enough to glance down. Today when I looked down it was about 3.
So I tried some other tricks. Get to 17 minutes and then I can rest my hands on the rails until 20. etc. I managed to make it to the end but it wasn't fun.
Some days are like that. I did realize this morning that in a couple of weeks I will have been at this for a year. A solid year. Who in the hell would have ever thought that?
Shower time.

Date: 2008-02-29 05:17 pm (UTC)But, exactly. I did it because I was quickly losing stamina. And I got it back all of it and more and surprisingly quickly. In addition, I got better posture and I can open a new jar of olives. I do feel good - great - and so much better and my breathing is excellent. (And, interestingly enough, I had always said that if the doctor told me I had limited time to live, I'd grab a cigarette but I don't think so now. I have totally and 100% lost the desire.) I do not miss a thing. I revel in the everydayness of the new community. It's perfect for me.
And, yep, I have not dropped an ounce or a millimeter and that's because of what I eat. I honestly cannot ever see changing that but I have sure learned never say never!!
And thanks....
