This morning - and most mornings lately - I wake up to NPR and Travis. In the early Travis days, it would be manic Travis. He would race across me or claw at me or, in whatever way he could, make sure I would not doze or sleep or even stay in bed.

These days, he still wakes up early early but now he's the model of patience and snuggling. This morning I semi woke up and he was awake, lying right next to me just waiting for me to wake up. We snuggled and I dozed and he waited. Then I got up and while I got the paper and the coffee he runs from one end of the house to the other at top speed.

Then, while I read the paper, we play fetch. I throw the toy and he brings it back and hides it under the paper. Lather, rinse, repeat.

He's turned completely from a morning terror to a morning joy...

Now we're just piddling around on the computer and enjoying the morning. Rosie at 10.

How cute and funny. I love cats. They seem to show much more personality than dogs. Lucky, my bad cat, has become more affectionate toward me in his maturing age. I bottle-fed him from 3 days old. When I would get done feeding him, my husband would take him from me and let him sleep on him (usually right under his chin). Lucky took to him more than me. Lucky has always chosen to sleep on me at night (both cats do) but during the day, he's Mrbllfrg's cat. However, he's started showing me more affection. I think it's cute and I love it.

I just went to your web cam to catch you on the computer. Alas, you were not there.

AH HA! No bed cam, eh? Ok fine.

Speaking more of affection, my oldest can't show enough affection. Since about the age of 10, she has grown more affectionate as she gets older. Now any time I'm sitting down (and she's not asleep in another room oblivious) she's in my lap. If I'm standing by something she can stand on, she'll sit by me and paw at me so I pick her up.

That is so cute that Travis lies there waiting for you to wake up. What a cheerful way to start the day. :)

I had a long haired orang tabby named Chuck, that would sit on top of the armoir in the morning and wait for me to open my eyes. I'd look at him and he'd meow a good morning.
But as soon as Stan woke up, he'd launch himself off of the armoire and land on Stan's chest.
The cat was a huge cat too.
Stan would complain that Chuck was stomping on him.
