Today's bits

susandennisTravis is in the other part of the house just playing his heart out with one of those little furry mice that I keep losing. I guess he's got himself a secret stash for when he wants to play. He's been at it now for about 30 minutes but when I go back there to see, he stops in his tracks and will not resume until I leave. Wonder if he has a secret handshake or a decoder ring.
The other day he was trying to get at the small trash basket in the bedroom. He'd never touched it before but this time he was working it hard - I was on the bed. Finally he managed to get it nearly tipped over so I got up to tell him no and immediately saw that one of his mice was in there and that's what he was after!
That cat is constant amusement.

I had an hour and a half long conference call this morning which I knew was going to be a major snoozer but turned out to be very well done and interesting. It was training on a new timekeeping system. My company has been using plain old spreadsheets since forever and we now have too many employees and too much complexity to make that viable so they've bought this new timekeeping system and it is slick! And the trainer was good. I'm so rarely wrong. :) Sure glad I was this time!

But the training meant I missed the lunch trailer window of op. I could go now, I guess. It's 12:15 but it's not raining and I'll betcha the place is packed. I have salami. I think I'll stick with that.

I need to remember to make my teddy bear delivery. I usually do it the first week of every month. They are only open M-F from 9-noon. I should have gone yesterday. Today is out. Tomorrow is too, due to another conference call. Thursday. Unless I forget. There's no compelling reason to deliver the first of the month or even every month (except maybe the pile will get too big). I just so like my routine...

About a month ago the UPS guy started making his deliveries through the back door and out of site of the Front Door TV Network. And now all of the delivery guys do except for USPS. It's not fair! How can I see who's getting what and when my packages arrive? I have to keep hitting reload on the UPS tracking page. Maybe I need to talk Scott into setting up a Back Door TV Network!
