Ok, now I am obsessed with speed.  Every time I pass a computer (which is sadly really often in this house) I have to run on of the speed tests just to make sure I'm still back on the road again.  I've never liked fast cars, never understand fast times, but man, do I love to see fast connect speeds!

Both Speakeasy Speedtest and Qwest Speedtest seem to measure the exact thing, so I alternate...

This is getting silly.

OK, I'll play. I got 1313 with speakeasy, but I have no idea what that means. I know it's better than when we used to split dialup through a modem to 4 computers .... haha.

Speakeasy (Seattle) gives me just under 7,000 download, whereas Qwest (Seattle) gives me about 5,500 download.

I know this isn't accurate as I'm in the UK but I prefer Speakeasy, 'cos we're on 8Mbps broadband here.

That gave me pretty much identical results to Speakeasy - thanks for the link though! :o)

only in other neighborhoods :)

there's also www.2wire.com (which only features one test, but it's the one that at&t/sbc/pacbell/... usually directs their customers to.
