Cell Phone Contagen?

Two of my long time LJ friends - kjaz and teasdale, in the past week have gone from 'cellphone?  I don't need one, I don't want one, I'm perfectly ok with being The Only Person On The Planet Without One' to cellphone owners!  They live on opposite sides of the country, have opposite lives, are not LJ friends of each other. Got entirely different cellphone/plans.   It's such an odd coincidence. 

But, I know they will both be happy that they have come over to the dark side.  A phone in your pocket is a handy thing to have in an emergency.  And beats the hell out of the dime in your shoe we all used live with.

Hmmm, now that is kind of odd, isn't it? Almost as odd as me finding the icon I'm using....

And speaking of the dark side, I found this gem while reading the Drudge Report this morning:
Mobile phones could kill far more people than smoking or asbestos, a study by an award-winning cancer expert has concluded. He says people should avoid using them wherever possible and that governments and the mobile phone industry must take "immediate steps" to reduce exposure to their radiation.

Eeeeep. Good thing I'm only gonna use it for emergencies, huh? *wink*

This also seems like a good time to introduce myself to kjaz. I've noticed your comments on Susan's LJ for a long time now. So, hello. :) Good luck with the cell phone.

Also, that "dime" is now a quarter and it sure would hurt everytime you stepped on it.
