So, I'm all caught up on work and here comes another giant batch and then phone rings and it's the car place saying my car is ready.  It is pretty perfect walking weather so I ping the project manager to see if her deadline will let me slide the giant batch over to the weekend... it will. Thanks.  Then I put on my walking shoes and grab a billed cap and the phone rings.

It's the nice guy from the car place "I forgot to offer you a ride.  May we come and get you?"  But, by then my mind was already beat 'n the street and I said no thank you and headed out.

It was, indeed, a lovely walk.  I stopped at the computer bits place and got my ethernet cable (they were out of 25 ft. so I got 50... I'll be able to go anywhere all wired up!) and then turned the corner down to the car place.  I saw it the minute I turned the corner.

Shining red in the sunlight. It was not that shiny when it was new!!!  They did a fabulous job.  It had lots of dings on it and several major chunks that they were all in the front so the new pieces fixed EVERYTHING!  I have a new car!!  $1,194.62.  And he told me a great place up on Beacon Hill (near my grocery and my library) to get any and all engine work done including oil change.

Since I had not known I was going to leave it on Monday, I did not get a chance to clean out the inside and it's full of trash plus stuff for Goodwill.  He apologized for not cleaning out the interior saying he didn't want to mess with my stuff!!  But, after I paid and got in the car to come home, I realized that they had totally dusted and cleaned the dashboard.

UNFREAKIN' believable.  Wow.   I guess I'll be writing up a glowing review and spreading it around the internets this weekend...  for any search engine who comes here:

Maybe they swiped another one and transferred over a few identifiable parts?

It looks very good. Isn't it lovely when someone significantly exceeds your expectations?

Wow, it does look brand new, doesn't it? I'm so happy it worked out well for you. My repair shop washes my car and cleans up the inside a bit if I leave it all day. And now they have referred you to another place for your other car stuff...I'd say they deserve a great review, too. :)

Isn't it nice when other stuff gets fixed too? After my parked car was horribly scratched up by a truck passing too close, the repair shop also popped out an old ugly dent I had on that side because "there was no way to fix one without fixing the other." Worked for me!

Oh lordy! Is that road sign in your icon for real?! I'm dyyyyying over here from laughter.
You know those road signs that show a sharp curve up ahead with a truck silhouette tipping over?
I've got an LJ friend that has one of those and it says, "This is going to be cool"
That one kills me too.

Belated reply

I didn't make the icon, so I'm not sure ... but I can certainly imagine places where that sign would be useful! Same for this icon.
