• 10:44 netflix's gifts are done - they've bumped me back to what I should get - 2 disks at a time. oh well it was fun
• 12:27 i wish they made coreless apples - you know, like seedless grapes
• 13:48 @legalmoose i actually have one of those things that cores and gives you wedges in one plunge
• 13:48 @legalmoose and getting the core out of an apple is easier than de-seeding grapes.. but still...

I have a gizmo you spear the apples on and crank (http://www.allbrands.com/products/abp00652-0087.html) that looks sort of like an old fashioned meat grinder. It peels, cores, and spiral slices the apple but when I use it somehow it drips juice all over. I put a pie pan underneath.

When we go appling in the fall, I see people at the major orchard stores using the exact same machine WAY better than I can - very quickly with no mess. Evidently that's how it's supposed to work and I am just applecranker challenged.

It's a REALLY fun thing to have even if I am messy. I read your entry and thought "I bet Susan would love this!"
