Ok, now I'm ready

I went off to the fancy schamcy we're cooler than you are nail place today and got a manicure.  I give 'em a 5.  They did a fairly decent job but the people and the place and the music and their process was all too annoying.  On the up side, now I know and don't have to do that again.

And they were fast so I had enough time to make a Goodwill drop.  Now the car is really clean of all junk!

In the dead of the night last night, I was jerked awake by cats.  They were both on the bed and freaked by some banging noise.  It was 2:30 a.m. It sounded like someone was hanging pictures!  I can't usually hear much from other units so they were obviously doing this with GIANT tools.  We all went back to sleep only to do it all again an hour later.  Then back to sleep.

This morning, Building Manager Scott caught me coming back from the gym and asked me if I heard any strange noises last night.  Soooo apparently we were not the only ones!  He was on a mission to find the violator!

It did not take him long.  When I went out to run my errands, he was there to report it was Judy!!  Can I Use Your Shower For Ever Judy from across the hall!  She was - on her own - taking down a wall - in the middle of the night.    And breaking about 58 different home owner association rules in the process.  That woman really redefines strange.

Mexico is playing China tonight - soccer - the parking lot is now like a festival or a festival without the people yet.   I hope it doesn't rain on them and spoil their fun.

So far the computer with the RAID issue has been functioning fine.  The Vista SP1 download is waiting in the wings but I'm not going to touch it until my brother can log in and look at stuff and make sure that it really is a RAID issue and the fix is a replacement drive.  I can wait.

I keep getting interrupted and my noodles are gone so I guess I'd better get back to work.

Ha!! We actually had a guy cooking up something illegal here in the unit just off the elevator several years ago. Stunk up the place to high heaven. They hauled his tiny little ass off and we never saw him again. His unit had to be totally redone from the studs in.

But, Judy and meth? That would require way too many skill groups. I'm asounded she's got enough to take down a wall or even think she could.

Bang Bang Neighbors

We make a serious effort to be quiet, especially at night. Unfortunately the assholes downstairs and next door are bangers. The downstairs people are really truly GANGbangers (some of them were in a huge street fight last week. Not kidding.) Once I heard noise outside at 3AM and opened the door to look - someone was leaving and whoever was still there decided it was NOMFB. BANG! BANG! BANG! on their ceiling/my floor.

Last night my husband was sick and couldn't wear his CPAP machine, so he was snoring. He snores REALLY loud. The newish neighbors next door started in. BANG!BANG!BANG! on the bedroom wall.

We make a serious effort to be quiet - no stomping, dancing, jumping, extreme music, keep raised voices to a minimum (all of these are tough sometimes because we have teenagers.) The people downstairs throw parties so loud that we can't hear our own TV with the doors and windows shut. Yet THEY pound on the floor? Fsckers.

I wish our landlord was as vigilant as your manager. Or that I had something to pound back with 10 times as loud. That would be fun.
