Sunday Finery
Apr. 27th, 2008 02:24 pmWhile the baseball crowd it still in the park, I made a quick dash out to the library, to get gas and to get the eggs that I forgot on Friday.
On top of Beacon Hill is my favorite little market and my library and several churches - one turquoise (you can see it in this photo). If you hit it correctly timing wise on Sunday, you run right into the after church crowd. The downside is that it gets a little crowded.
But, the wonderful upside, is that there is nobody nowhere who dresses like black people do for church on Sundays. They are positively beautiful to look at from toe to the top of their wonderful hats. And they are such fun. They have been shot through the heart with the spirit and it's still in full force for their trip to the market.
It's like my own personal church for eye and ear and spirit.
