No work work on the plate this morning and it will take a while for the program managers to get cranked up anyway so I'm sewing.  I have two shirts that need the cuffs removed and pockets sewn and it's time to take my winter pajama pants and make them into summer pajama shorts.

Usually, I sew stuff by hand but there is enough stuff in the pile this morning to drag out the sewing machine so I did.  This kind of sewing, however, is kind of like painting a small bathroom.  75% of the job is masking off the areas not to paint.  75% of this job is reconstructing and then reconstructing with pins - the actual sewing part is at the end and minimal.

The deconstruction part is tedious and the first one is dark brown.  Pulling out factory sewn dark stitches from dark fabric is a bitch but I am done and so taking a break before I go back to the rest.

Its a rainy Seattle day which may sound redundant but actually, is not.  We have a lot of gray days but not as many rainy ones as you might think.  Today is the kind of rainy - slow, gentle and light - that makes everything feel washed and refreshed.

Speaking of washed and refreshed.  Blue Bear and Green Bear are, now, once again clean and smelling sweet.  And they are refluffed!  I use this great stuffing - Fairfield Polyfil.  You can use a little or a lot to vary the solidness of the bear and it is easy to shape and stuff and it washes and refluffs beautifully.  Recently they quit making my favorite incarnation - 24oz bags.  I had ordered up a shipment and my vendor called with the bad news.  He said 'now, we have another supplier...' OH no!  I'm not giving up my Fairfield.   I switched to 20oz bags.
