Ok, I've had it. The 7 people who died in the Columbia were just people. They were not heros. They were not trail blazers - any more than thousands of others. I'm sorry they died but I'm sure that more than 700 equally valuable people also died in the world since Saturday morning. And I'm getting more than a little pissed at why these people who were far more fortunate than most, are being worshiped for dying in a manner they chose, using my tax dollars, to do what they wanted.

We are getting ready to kill loads and loads of people in countries far away - gleefully and with the marjority of this country on the sidelines with pompoms.

I can make no sense of this.

Well you'll have to do better than this if you want to piss me off. Reminds me of the hoopla about that school teacher Reagan killed when he sent her into space for a publicity stunt. There was a reason I never mentioned any of this in my journal.

I guess I must be in the minority since I certainly am not waving any pompom's for Dumbya's stupidity...I certainly didn't vote for him.

Doesn't Tom look like Burt Reynolds in that hair? And, unlike Burt, it is Tom's own hair.

I don't get pissed off over comments like yours. We all need to have different opinions and feelings. That is what makes it fun and interesting.

I felt bad but have moved on. Too much coverage. Happens all the time with the TV folks milking it until you want to run screaming through the halls.

No pissing me off here - I actually agree with you.

Did I cry when I found out that Columbia perished? Yes, because of the tragic way they died. It didn't last very long and I didn't mope around and I certainly don't think they were heros or anything. They did know the risks involved. Heck, getting into a car every day or walking outside is a risk that we take every day of our lives, as is pretty much anything we do.

What we are getting ready to do overseas is appalling. What Bush is pushing this country into is appalling.

I make no sense of it either.

Third Grade... Ah yes, Miss Durfee. Didn't believe me when I told her I was sick. I had the chicken pox! I DEFIED her and marched right over to the school nurse. Her reaction later: OOPS, I guess you were sick.

That bitch still teaches I bet. That type never wants to retire.

Dan Rather. Hmmm he is cute in a weird way. I'd like to go out on a field assigment with him. :-P

Doesn't piss me off either. I feel sorry for their families ...but they knew the risks. The poor people of Iraq have little choice in whats going to happen to them ..after all , they had little choice in their leader :(

Doesn't offend me either.

I find myself a little confused by your rhetoric. Do you not think they were heros because they were doing what they wanted? [I know a number of police and firemen that are doing that because they want to. Does that make them non-heros?] Or is it because they were doing it on your tax dollars and you don't approve?

I agree that their deaths aren't at the same hero level as the death of a fireman who goes back into a burning building to save someone. But that doesn't diminish their deaths at all.

And yes, they were trailblazers. And I hope we have more.

They were not hero's they died on the job, probably one of the more spectacular jobs, and definitely a spectacular death. The American media makes hero's of those they want. Getting smeared all over Texas helped their cause, and not the death of others.

That same day a small group of soldiers died in Afghanistan, a plane crash I believe. Now they are the hero's, ordinary people living in harm's way, and give their lives so that the rest of us can discuss who is a hero and who is not. How much did you hear about that loss of life? They are still as DEAD.

Ilene and I made the same comments you did each time we turned on the news... we have had to keep off the news channels the past few days because the news is nothing news... I don't need to say more.

Peace
