Flat food time
Jun. 8th, 2008 05:33 pmAt IBM whenever a bunch of work met an aggressive deadline it was said to have been flat food time. You went into your office and closed the door and worked until you got done. Your manager fed you but in order not to disturb the only food allowed was food flat enough to be slid under the door (pizza).
My own project here has given over to flat food time. I finished 2 of the 8 hour pages and promptly got a whole bunch more to do. So it's petal to the metal for the next couple of weeks. I like the work and these pages are very formulated. They are made up of 4 giant sections. It takes me about 2.5 hours for the first 2 sections and 1.5 for the second 2. It gives me nice break points like the break I'm on now.
Dinner is cooking.
Now I'm going to go eat it.
