This just in: M's fire manager John McLaren

He's the guy who took over for the guy who really started the downhill spiral. We're probably several managers away from the answer yet but my sense of justice and fair play is all tied up in the guillotine. This is no time to be fucking with prisoners.

Honestly, I don't fault McLaren as much as some do. Getting rid of Bavasi was a natural move, as he constructed this mess. But McLaren could only work with the aging, underperforing pieces that he had. Casey Stengal himself couldn't win with this pathetic team.

I remember years ago when the manager of some underperforming team was fired, and one of the players was quoted as saying, "Well, they had to do something, and you can't fire 25 players."
