This morning my finance guy called and he needed my signature. (I usually make fans wait outside for autographs but he's special.) He had his office send me a PDF with instructions to sign the last page and fax it back.
Er, ah... no fax machine. So what to do. I went downstairs to see if Scott had one in the condo office. I think he does but he was off doing condo stuff and it's probably not kosher for me to use it anyway. I think my next door neighbor has a fax but I hate to bother them.
So I quizzed Google and found several free sites but none looked really that reliable. And then I found Onetimefax. Very simple, very straightforward. $1.50 and I'm good. So I started clicking. Really it was painless. And they take nearly every format I would ever have. And... they have a tracker! You can see the progress of your fax! I was pretty darned impressed. Easy peasy. I was faxed. But it got better.
They charged me for tax which I thought was weird (and not mentioned ahead of time). And the guy who received my fax (which I sent as a jpg) said it came in 25% reduced but he could use it.
I was really busy with work stuff and just figured live and learn. Then I got an email asking how I liked the service. It was NOT a link to a convoluted form on a slow server... nope it was a simple email saying they were interested in my opinion and if I cared to share it, hit 'reply'! How's that for refreshing?!
So I did. I hit reply. I told them I was very impressed. I mentioned the tax and the reduction of the graphic but mentioned them as 'lessons learned' not as complaints.
Nearly immediately, I got an email from a real person saying my fax had been resent at full size and the taxes added had been removed from my bill!!
I'm just blown away. I may turn into a faxing fool. If you need to send a fax, go right to OneTimeFax.com. Really.
