Yes, we've had another goldfish. Bigger. I love them. I did take copious notes and photos and I'll write up the details tomorrow so these kids can have cousins!

The Fire Festival was ok. I was hoping for an arts and crafts festival that was using he firestation as an excuse. Nope. This was all about fire stuff and fire people and fire dogs.  There were some pretty firefighters to look at but not as many as I had hoped.

The Sreet Skillet trailer was there and so I did get a good burger and some fries.  And the guy taking the orders recognized me right off the bat with a hearty "Hi! Susan!!".  Wild.

Otherwise the day has been the usual lovely Saturday.  I watched the Mariners lose (in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs - ugh) and some other TV.  Now I think I'll knit a bear before the others get their feelings hurt.  (And, yes, the gold fish will go with the bears in August.)

Those fishies are the absolute best. I love them more than the bears!

And yeah, for some time firefighters have been something of a disappointment in the "pretty" department. But that might be because most of the ones around here are REALLY redneck.

A few years ago Gordon (accidentally) set fire to our bedroom and as I made the decision to close the door on it all and wait for the fire brigade I cheered myself up at the thought of some pretty fireman on their way. Unfortunately they weren't all that pretty, all a bit old and tired looking really, but it was late at night and I was grateful they came. And they were ever so helpful, but still, they should arrange for at least one piece of eye candy to be in every unit. :-)

I haven't any orange yarn but will go to town and buy some in anticipation of making some from your instructions!
It tickles me that I can get excited at the prospect of this :-)

Those fish are so cute! How do you get them shaped so nicely? What do you use to stuff them with?

I bet they'd be cute in different colors, too. :)

Thank you. The knitting structure makes the shape. It took some knitting/ripping/knitting to get it right. They are stuffed with the same polyfiber stuff I use to stuff the teddy bears but thanks for reminding me to include that in the instructions!
