The clouds lifted and caught me...
Jul. 18th, 2008 04:28 pmWork took an ugly turn about mid day. One of my lovely co-workers who does a job I am only vaguely familiar with left for two days on the assumption that I would take over but that I did not need to know she was leaving or any of the changes that have happened in her work environment since last I touched it. She did not expect to have any work but sure enough there was a little emergency change that created a mad scramble for moi. So not classy.
I did not have any of the tools required on my new machine and did not know where the source files had been moved to... etc, etc. On the up side, nothing else was going on so I had the time to dig and one of my other co-workers provided some crucial info and I got it done.
Then, it was still coolish out and I thought I'd make a library/grocery store run. Once I got out, I decided to stop at the grocery outlet and see what good deals they had... I scored 4 giant t-shirts (3X and 4X) in great colors for $3 each. And they are good ones. And the very fancy fancy cat food was going for 6 cans for $1. I was jazzed.
On to the regular grocery store where I found everything I wanted and then some. I came home and put every single thing away. I'm hot and whipped. So now I'm having some cooldown time.
My boss is having his annual picnic today. I went last year and it was kind of fun. But it was cool. While I was in the grocery store the sun came out and the cool went away. The picnic is in a city park that I can never find and not nearby. I decided that I just didn't want to fool with it in the hot sun and traffic.
So I'm going to have a nice dinner here and watch the ballgame and just enjoy my Friday evening - hopefully, fire free.
