All of the perky weather people have been promising clouds and rain today and tomorrow and now the fucking sun is frying my living room.  Bastards.  I am hoping that it says cool enough for a trot up to the International District for dinner tonight but that's not going to happen if this stupid sun won't go away.  Three more weeks of summer.  I think I can make it, I think I can, I think I can...

I made a new and hopefully improved batch of quiche muffins - they are in the oven now.  I am waiting...

I have some work work that I need to do today.  It's an application that I cannot get to work like it should.  I want to spend some quality time with it and see if we can't come to an understanding.

I may go to the fabric store and see if I can find an appropriate covering for my back wedge pillow on the bed.  When I first got the latest duvet cover, I just slapped a coordinated case over it.  But, now I like this cover a lot and so the pillow I use to lean against needs a proper cover.  Today might just be the day to get that done.

I TiVo'd the Olympic opening ceremony twice.  I did the Canadian show and the NBC show.   I thought it would be interesting to see the differences.   It was interesting.  They were both very different - an equal number of pros and cons.  I'm not an Olympic person.  I tried to get into it when my friend, John, worked on the Nagano Olympics and then the Sydney ones.  He would call and email with the inside skippy but, honestly, I just never got the bug.  I might watch some but probably not much.

It just boggles me anew why politicians are allowed to have dicks when clearly they have no clue how to use them appropriately.

Actually, the problem is that the definition of "appropriate" use of the dick is different for politicians than for the rest of us.
