Cindy McCain really creeps me out.  She reminds me of the people in the village of the Damned.  And Joe Biden is very nearly one of the boringest choices imaginable.  I'm not jazzed by this election.

final answer?

i haven't heard anything that it was announced ... i do agree, though, that biden is not a choice for change.

It's official, on the front page of his web site. What a disgusting choice, considering all the qualified non-establishment women out there. If anything, Biden will be an albatross - he abandoned his Presidential campaign instead of fighting malicious press' false accusations of plagiarism (he failed to attribute a quote one time in a speech he had made a dozen times with the atribution, the media blew it all out of proportion).

I may not vote.

Joe Biden is indeed boring, but he was one of the safest choices Obama could make. He has the foreign policy experience that Obama lacks, and thus fills in for a weakness McCain could otherwise attack.

I'll tell you the same thing I said to someone in my own journal. I'd love to vote for a moderate candidate that represents the views of the majority of the American people. But instead I get to pick from anal retentive conservative right wingers or swinging dick liberal left wingers.

Biden has minimal foreign affairs knowledge, just being on the committee doesn't mean squat. Chris Dodd would have been a better choice that way, former Peace Corps volunteer who speaks 3 languages. plus the foreign affairs committee experience.

Obama doesn't lack experience - he spent some of his childhoor in Indonesia, his father was from Africa and he's visited more countries on his own than Biden has as a Senator.

Yeah, I think that as long as Biden stays boring, Obama should be safe.

Just think how exciting John Edwards would have been. (I know, his scandal is hardly the sort of thing that should be career-ending stupid, compared to something like McCain's Keating 5 thing, and it's no worse than McCain's treatment of his first wife, but it was a scandal, which is just what Obama does not need.)

Ya know, you just gave me an idea...

I've mentioned a few times in my own journal than when I was wee lad in my late teens I was in some porno movies. That was long enough ago that it was all on VHS, they are long out of production, and even I don't have copies. Every now and then I try to find them, but I have no luck.

But if I ran for President, somebody would come up with copies of those old videos in mere days from my announcement, and then I could get all the copies I wanted from the press!

That might work, even if you ran for a lower office. You could even send an anonymous tip to a reporter telling about the dirty secret, and offer a denial with a challenge to produce proof.

"Yawn" indeed. As soon as I saw that name this morning, I said, "I knew he'd pick someone boring."

But, I have to admit it was tactically smart of him.

I hadn't thought of it before, but you're totally right about Cindy McCain! It's all in the eyes.

I was wishing for Biden. I like him, and he'll be a great help with the DC old guard that tries to crush Obama out of the gate (the way Clinton was when he ended up with Don't Ask Don't Tell, bleah).
