I was a little twitchy seeing this headline all over town this week Police search for Seattle tree-killer.  Turns out they weren't talking about my tree, which is obvious since it shows exactly ZERO signs of even being sick much less kilt.  Happily, I'm pretty sure the police aren't set up to tail the Person Who Really Really Wants The Tree Dead.

I thought about your tree when I read about the tree-killer. I read about it in the "dead-tree" edition of the P-I.

When you started posting about The Tree That You Hate, my head was filled with what I thought were witty remarks about the culture you grew up in and how these days girdling works for more than waistlines. But to see that someone has actually done that and more to make SURE those trees will die - that is HORRIBLE. I equate the culprit with someone who tortures animals. I have no relationship with those trees and I am still very, very sad.
