Betty split for under the bed just before I heard the first of the thunder.  It lasted a good while and she would not even come out for dinner.  She got out from under the bed but would have no part of coming to the kitchen.  And, no, I don't do kitty room service.

It was quite the storm.  We rarely get thunder and lightening and when we do, it's generally 2 claps and 2 strikes and we're done.  Usually not even any rain.  Today we got lots of thunder and lots of rain and wind for maybe 30 minutes.  It was nice.  All gone now.  I am grateful our electricity did not even flicker.  Thank you Seattle City Light.

I had a very busy work afternoon and will be at it again in the morning.  But, after tomorrow, I expect, it will be nothing until Tuesday.  Not my first choice but not a big deal.  I may even take a little road trip...  there's a new Target store south of there and another store not far from there, that I want to check out.  Nothing I want to buy but I want to see.  Maybe Thursday.

Betty just came out for dinner - an hour and a half later.  Travis had already helped himself to her portion.  Sorry, Betty.  Burp.

Even after years of regular thunderstorms here, every time we have one Phoebe will be one of two places...either huddled under the table on the porch, or huddled as far back in her dog house as she can manage to get.

Dusty, on the other hand, will either be running around in the rain, or sound asleep in her favorite mud puddle also in the rain.

Phoebe's other oddity is that she is afraid of my camera. Apparently she thinks she's done something wrong, and will go hide under a bush if I come in the yard with it. In every picture I have of her, her tail is down and her ears are back like she's afraid.

Other than those two issues, Phoebe has a fairly aggressive personality, and does not cower from anything other than thunderstorms and cameras.

Dusty has no issues with cameras, she just doesn't understand when I tell her to stay at a distance so I can take her picture. She wants to be in my lap, which is rough with a chocolate lab and doesn't make for very good pictures...especially when she keeps licking the camera.
