It started with a piece of network software (for work) that I hate anyway. It is never snappy and today it made dog slow look quick. Then my computer threw a really ugly error. I did a restore to last Sunday. Computer feels better. Network line does not.

So I called Qwest. I got Annoying CSR after Really Annoying PreRecorded Telephone Tree. Finally, in the most calm and nicest voice I could muster I said "May I please speak to your manager?"

Eric was nice enough to listen to why I did not believe my clearing out cookies will bring back the 70% of the line speed I have lost today. When I finished, I asked him to move me to a less congested switch. He put me on hold and came back and asked me a few more very intelligent questions and said he'd like to do some research but it would take about 30 minutes. I told him that he sounded like he totally understood issue and would work hard to get it fixed and that he did not need the pressure of having me on hold. He laughed very nicely and said he would call me back when he knew something. I'm cool with that.

Now I am downloading updates. Ooops, check that.... I'm installing updates.

My beloved financial guy came to see me today. This guy has been in charge of my wallet for more than 15 years now and he's grown it from a little coin purse to a bag big enough to hold my retirement. I love this guy to bits. And I've always been afraid of the day he would retire. That fear is here. He's selling his practice. Sigh. He says he's staying on for a couple of years and he's hand picked my new guy who, he says, he'll bring around to meet me soon. As long as he makes sure I can live like I want til the end, then I'm cool. I'll sure miss his wise counsel though.

I am, however, very tired of hearing people say 'let me explain about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack in a way you can understand'.... I do not understand. I do not want to understand.
And I'm tired of the both of them. They need a time out.
