My Mom was a good cook.  She did not cut corners and the results were always excellent.  One thing she excelled in was fried chicken.  She made it sing.  I met another singer in the fried chicken chorus today.

If I were not 100% sure she is very dead, I would have said Mom was inside The Skillet Street Food lunch wagon today, frying up chicken.  Seriously.  This stuff is really my drug of choice.  My $8.00 bought 2 large pieces of chicken and a large serving of hand cut french fries.  Way over the value top.  I'm a little tempted to eat this second piece and go back for two more for dinner tonight. 

But, no, I'll save this piece.  I do want to test and see if it is as good cold as it was hot.  Then next week, I may really get two lunches!

This is just so good.

Work is keeping me busy today so I need to get back to it.

For a while now, I've been checking the Skillet calendar as part of my daily routine, in the hopes of being motivated enough to go try it one day. I couldn't help but notice that this Friday THEY ARE COMING TO ME! I hope they still have fried chicken then; I'd hate to miss out after this rave review. Make sure you post about how good (or not) it is cold, so I can know if I should order a second serving for dinner. :-)

Oh you are soooooo in for a treat! they always have their menus for a week so you are in the fix for chix on Friday. How nice of them to come to you.

Man! I've been craving fried chicken for a couple of weeks now. The closest Skillet location for me is in Fremont on Thursdays, but this is the last Thursday I can make it there, and i already have plans.

One of my things is, cold left over fried chicken the next day. I love it. I haven't found fried chicken like I remember in my childhood ever. I'm still looking.
