I dropped off the teddy bears and went on to Bartel's to get a tube of my prescription toothpaste.  The pharmacy clerk was so nice and thoughtful and patient that I did not even mind having to wait and wait.  Plus, I had a sudoku puzzle book in my purse which helped the wait.

Why are their no bite size Heath bars in all of the Halloween candy???? I keep looking. I keep not finding.

---

While at a stoplight, a black crow flew by my windshield with a half eaten chicken leg in his mouth!  I am not kidding.  Never seen that before in my life!

---

I have developed more than a passing interest in the baseball playoffs.  I think it's partially because the Marines sucked soooooo much this year and I miss unsucky baseball but mostly I think it's because the playoffs - at least the first round - are all on TBS.  I don't have to hunt.  I just told one of the TiVo's to get 'em all, please.  Nice.

I like the Phillies cause of Jamie Moyer.  I like the Red Sox cause I know too many people who require that I do.  I like the Tigers because old Tiger stadium won the best stadium hot dog in my Summer Of The Hot Dog test, years ago.   I like the Cubs because I breath.  Oh and Sweet Lou.

But, also, a big big draw is no Yankees.

I might lose interest but starting out, I'm there.

I do wonder how many people got a stool for their bathroom after Monday night's Two and a Half Men?

---

My NPR station keeps reminding me that the Semi Annual Two Weeks From Hell start Monday. Their pledge drive is bad enough, that they have to advertise it for a week before hand is even worse. grrrrrrr

Tigers? Do you know something *I* don't know? The Tigers were sucktastic this year - not as sucktastic as the M's, but that wasn't a hard bar to hurdle. Go Cubbies, I say. And anyone who plays the White Sox (ptui).

Hee - my point was that the Tigers are SO far out of the playoffs it's not even funny. They didn't even hit a .500 season. *sigh*

Indeed, they finished last in their division. With the second-highest payroll in baseball (yes, higher than the Red Sox or the Mets).

Burningbright (pictured in my icon) is not happy.

Know what'd be fun but I know it's a longshot? A Cubs/Red Sox world series. Let two old time teams have at it... Two old time teams that are NOT the Yankees.

It's cool to me that both Chicago and LA have BOTH their teams in the playoffs right now. Kind of wild!

I have, maybe much to my own shame, already reconciled myself to Tampa Bay being an utter powerhouse if they find their groove in the playoffs. They've been such a surprise and wonder all season and they kind of deserve to enjoy the ride. Even if they aren't my boys I can still respect them. :)

While I think a Red Sox-Cubs Series would be great, it no longer has the resonance it would have had before 2004.

I can't decide who I'll be rooting for if the Red Sox don't survive. Family loyalty says it should be the Phillies. Personal sentiment says it should be the Cubs. Appreciation of a great story says it should be the Rays.

Of course, the right approach is not to consider the possibility that the Red Sox won't go all the way.

rumor of the week is the Yankees threw the season so management could get a head start ripping down the old stadium.

The Giants went out in style, managing to control the suckage and only lose 90 games this season. They need some more bats, and one more full-game-capable pitcher to turn it around.

Cubs/Redsox would be fun. I would root for the Cubs but why spoil a perfect record?

I like the Cubs because I breath.

Wooooooooord!

I think you might get a kick out of one of the guys at Fire Joe Morgan mocking a newspaper article that asked what Yankees fans thought of the Dodgers/Cubs series.

I cackle at these guys even when I have no idea who the TEAMS are, much less the players.

Bite size heath bars only come in a mixed bag. I think it's "All Chocolate." I must remember to stock up on those orange and black wrapped peanut butter taffies

I'm helping host a party where we're doing "count the candy corn" to win it. I have a pumpkin shaped jar that will hold at least 15 pounds of the stuff.

Argh...I bumped something and it posted. I was going to say that I thought of you when we bought all that candy corn (we haven't even begun to count.) Shall I send a picture so you can take a guess ; )

Let me tell you, if my Mom was still alive to see the Mets choke (like they always do at the end of the season) it surely would have put her in her grave. My mother was a huge Mets fan. I'm glad she wasn't around to see them screw up their chances yet again.
