Holy moly. Yesterday I got some kind of announcement from twitter so I decided to go to the website for the first time in about a year. I had not made any twitter comments for that long either. I discovered that I could twitter from my phone, so I set that up, inadvertently setting it so that I get twitters from others listed as my friends. All day yesterday I was getting journal entries from my daughter and a couple of notes from a more remote friend. I was wakened a bit after five this morning by three more text message twitters. So I turned that particular feature off.

I couldn't help wondering what the hell would anyone want that for? In general I wonder about the real value of twitter, for that matter. I think, though, that we waste time in many ways, and twitter is just one. There is also a strange gratification, I imagine, knowing you can call up these things later, almost like reliving that moment.
