Hitting the trifecta
Oct. 6th, 2008 12:30 pmIt can't be much of a surprise to anyone who has read more than a few entries of this journal, that I heart tracking numbers big time. I love watching packages get closer and closer to me. A while back
yesthatjill and I swapped comments about my love of tracking numbers and she said she would send me one some day.
I figured it would be a postcard or an envelope with a clever joke in it. Then one day she Twittered me a tracking number. I didn't even get it at first. I had to ask what it was! Doh. I watched it come to me from across the country. I watched it get snagged in Seattle on Saturday because they said I wasn't home on Saturday morning at 8 (wrong)!
It arrived today and it is no simple postcard... OH no! It's a wonderful, colorful, soft, soft, soft, hand knitted head/ear warmer that is so clever and small, I can keep it in the pocket of my coat and be ready when my ears say it is time! And that's not all...
There is the most clever cute corn candy dispenser!!! It's lid half opens so you can shake out the needed amount. It's the cutest thing ever and so practical! My corn candy will never get stale and if the cats knock it over (like the did the bowl last week), I will not be picking up little corn candies off the carper or feeding them to Roomba!
So, she sends me a great tracking number that I enjoy thoroughly. Then she sends 3 totally perfect gifts (did I mention there was corn candy to put into the cute corn candy dispense???) and it did not stop there.
In the box (recycled from a Woot delivery to her which tickled me for some reason), she had used plastic grocery bags for packing. 7 of them. This was like manna from heaven. I have gotten to be such a snob about reuseable bags, that I refuse to get caught taking a plastic one from the store. The problem is that the plastic ones are perfect for scooping litter. They tie up perfectly. I thought I had a lifetime supply but have been getting seriously low. I can use and reuse them for a while but until this morning, I was down to my last 3 and getting nervous. 7 more will last me months and months!!!
This was the triple crown of gifts. Way to make a Monday excellent!!

Date: 2008-10-07 12:43 am (UTC)And, I have to tell you. Your puzzles on your webpage have added a whole new level of relaxation to my life. I enjoy one every Saturday and every Sunday morning with my coffee. Ok. I admit it. Sometimes 2, or 5...
