Today's stuff
Oct. 14th, 2008 11:01 amAnother slowish work day - my next paycheck is going to be a pittance :(. So I'm just getting other stuff done. I finished my latest book, downloaded another one and loaded up the player. One of the library's download places - Overdrive.Com - has just added wishlists which makes the whole process infinitely easier. I spent a fair amount of time consolidating my notes from gmail, good reads, small scraps of paper... Nice.
A small yarn order came in. My toys need to be made out of washable yarn and it helps if its cheap. And because it goes through my fingers, I want it to be soft and I demand pretty colors. Some of that - the washable and the cheap, particularly, I can discover on the websites. The soft and good colors, not so much. So I take a little chance with each order. Order up some old favorites and some new Let's Try This. Today's batch was smaller than most but only one of the Let's Try This skeins are really a good find. Sigh.
We have a ton of yarn shops around here but none of them carry the cheap acrylic yarn I need so the online experimentation continues. I can always use the ones I don't like much so it's not really a loss. One of the losers this time is a giant skein of Christmas green. I'll use that first and maybe someone will love it because it's seasonal.
I ordered from the lunch wagon (Skillet Street Food) today. It's an indulgence but such a fun one. Plus, my sandwich bread started growing green hair. I'm thinking there's a grocery run sometime soonish.
Life on Mars and 11th Hour and Kath and Kim all got deleted off of TiVo after 20 minutes of watching. (Actually Kath and Kim only got about 5.) I wish I liked Fringe. So many actors from The Wire are on shows I don't like. But, they are probably playing different characters so it would be hard to see them.
Ok, now I'm just rambling incoherently. I think I'll go clean the litter box and make a trash run on the way out to pick up mhy sandwich.
