I get out of the shower and my nose starts bleeding.  Crap.  Up until a couple of years ago, the last nosebleed I had was when I was 6.  Then last winter I bought a small, personal, humidifier and had it blow wet air on my nose all night.  No nose bleeds.  But it was kind of annoying to have to fill every day.  So I have not turned it back on.  I had a small nosebleed on Sunday.  And then today.

Crap.  Ok, it gets turned on tonight.  Since the ceilings are high and not closed off to the rest of the house, I can't close the door and steam the room.  (Also, I have no door.) So this small portable humidifier is what I use.  And I guess I will be using it tonight and every night until next Summer.

Seconds after the bleeding stopped something got into my eye somehow.  Happily, it was not the eye with the contact.  It hurt like a sonofabitch.  I tried washing it out with drops and that stung like the devil.  It's calmed down a bit but there is still something on that inner lid that is not happy.

I think maybe this day needs to just start again!  I thought the end of the public radio pledge drive was a good beginning but it has sure tanked since then!

How's the eye, now? And nosebleeds scare me to bits.

Impromptu eye wash: new dixie cup filled with warmish water. Put eye to dixie cup and open it up and look around as long as you can take it. It's kind of like opening your eyes in the pool without the burn of the chlorine. Or when you are in the shower do the same with a cupped hand. It'll make your eye feel weird because it's tap water, but damn if it doesn't feel better than whatever's in there.
