I've spend a fair amount (actually too much) time wandering around other Live Journals recently and I can't really figure out a good way to get a sense of what I'm reading. It's kind of like - well, actually it's exactly like, walking into the middle of a thought of a complete stranger. Some of the profiles help but not many and now, I know, mine sure doesn't. I need to fix it.

I also need to figure out what the point of my doing this is. Not so much so that I know why but more so that I know what. So far I haven't told anyone that I'm doing this or put a link anywhere. Of course, someone could find it - particularly another Live Journaler but that's OK, I figured they are used to random and will understand.

But, it seems to me that I need to figure out if I'm recording this stuff for me, for posterity, to remember what I did, to chronical the weather, my moods, my current knitting project, my favorite tv shows, whatever... I need to figure this out and then get this thing going...

I was LiveJournal surfing just now and stumbled on your journal... I find most of what I read to be utterly useless as I'm a little older than the teens and college kids who populate this service. But I've managed to find a few interesting people (and they've found me) so given time, I'm sure you'll stumble on someone else with a like mind.

Good luck!

I did not mean to imply that younger journalers were inferior or that you thought that, either. I just meant that I have a hard time relating to younger journalers because, even though I've experienced high school and college and all of those emotions that come along with those experiences, my world is so different now.
