Well, actually, season three starts next week on HBO. I haven't seen season two and I don't have HBO. But maybe they won't take two more years to crank out the next set of DVD's.
As you can see bot Bob and I are hooked as well. I just read an article about the show and it called the family dysfunctional. But to me they aren't. I think they're just like any family with all members dealing with their own private problems. Now if you want to talk dysfunctional lets talk about Bren's family, loony toons there. I've been struck especially by the mother in the show, not so much because I like her better than the rest, I don't really, but because of the way she dresses. I don't think I have ever seen a character who dresses the way she does. I think I'm just figuring it out though. Her clothes are very much her personality. They hide everything and are kind of dowdy and in a way like a little girl especially her shoes, little black patten thingys. That got me to thinking and I realized each of the characters are really defined by what they wear. If you didn't know any of them you could discern something of their character just be looking at them. I don't think I've quite encountered that in other shows before. As to favourites well, Nate certainly is a hunk, and David's not too bad either, but I think Rico is just the cutest little thing you ever did see. As characters I really like Claire. But in reality I like all the characters, except for maybe Bren's Mother & father, and her brother is just a bit too creepy for me. And they're all incredible actors. I sure hope they release the 2nd season soon. We can't get the TV show on our system so like you have to wait til it comes out on DVD or VCR. Even if we could get the 3rd season I don't think I'd watch it until I'd seen the 2nd.
I actually could buy the channel that carries the show but I'm with you. No way am I watching season 3 before season 2. So I guess we'll just suffer.
But, weren't you just a little disappointed in how Frederico handled David's telling him he was gay? I expected some aversion but he just turned to ice. And then the next time we see him he's back to the normal Rico. I think someone dropped some of the script on the floor or something.
Otherwise I agree with everything you say. The costuming is amazing. And the characters are amazing. And I still want Keith to come to my house and be my slave. (David can have Eddie.)
Interesting comment on Rico. I think he said during that scene something to the effect that where he comes from men get together with men but have wives and kids. In other words it's not considered a gay thing, men are still men. Certainly when I visited Puerto Rico that was a story line going around, that straight PR would go to bed with you and then go home to their families. Anyway just made me think that perhaps Rico has experienced this, or didn't like this aspect of his culture. Still think he's a cutey though. And yes Keith or Eddie could come home with me, actually any of the guys. They all seem to be really sexy without being pretty boys, even Billy.
