Nice Day...

I'm pretty sure the last drop of rain fell just as I came in from my walk.  I never saw another drop all day.  Timing.

My plan today was to head out north of here to a suburb where there's a new restaurant that serve fried okra.  Turns out 'restaurant' is kind of overstating it.  It's a take out joint with a few small tables.  They did have a fun menu.  Catfish and bbq and calamari and frog legs and a host of sides including okra.  I had frog legs and okra.  It was honestly mediocre.  I don't have to go back.  They did give me two beignets to sample and they were heaven.  Light and buttery and crispy and just heaven.

On the way back home, I did a bunch of stops to look and shop.  I got Betty and Travis each a new collar.  I wandered through Best Buy to see what's new and hot and happening.  Some of the new laptops are sure pretty.  I shopped in about 7 places and ended up spending a total of $40.  I don't think I'm doing my part for the economy. 

So I came home and ordered a couple of things online so I feel more responsible.

It was a nice day. 

I have nothing planned for tomorrow.  Newspaper and gym and then knitting and TV.  Oh I have Get Smart from Netflix.  That should be fun.

On a totally random note, have you been to the new popcorn place (KuKuRuZa) on Pike, just east of the Market? If you like flavored popcorn, you should check it out. Some of it was so-so, others (the black raspberry liquor and mixed fruit) are outstanding, and they have all the free samples you want.
