Working hard to have a good day

My buddy, BJ, came by the cube this morning with a cheery good morning. It was sooo cheery that it made me instantly suspicious. But, he explained that yesterday really sucked for him and his new theory is that if you smile, you'll be happy and if you let your day suck, it will. So we decided to have a good day today, no matter what.

Just now the fuckchop who is going to be gone until next month, dropped some crap on me as he walked out the door. I forgot the plan. BJ, who was out of site but must have been nearby, sent me an IM reminding me that I was not using my happy face. It was so absurd that it instantly put my happy face back on. Well, that and the fact that the fuckchop is gone for the next 12 days.

It is getting more and more difficult to enjoy working here. I need to find some tricks and the Happy Day Requirement could just be a good one. If I let my day suck, it will. So I think I'm going to not let it. So there.

We did that whole thing at work w/the book and the film and fish all over the office and fish names for departments. After 6 months, no one gives a flying f about it. I think this happens everywhere. My daughter's company had the same thing but they lost motivation after 4 months.

Easier said than done. Take a tranquilizer. If I took tranquilizers, my life would be so much easier. Not necessarily better, just easier.
