I am not a big wine drinker. I don't mind it. I just don't usually knock people over to get to it. Last Sunday, Sherry ordered a glass of wine with her dinner and it looked really good so I ordered the same thing. It was delicious!

Waterbrook Melange. One of the guys at work is a big wino - he buys tons of wine as investment, to drink, whatever. He'd never heard of this and did some research and discovered that it was on sale at the wine shop closest to here so I went by today and got a couple of bottles. Mainly I wanted to see if it was really that good or if it was just the time and place.

It's really that good. I'm having a glass right now.

I am a native Californian, born and raised in Napa Ca. Some wine is great and some is awful. Actually, I find the wineries a lot more interesting than what they produce.

I am so low brow!

Will have to give it a try. When I was stationed in the Bay Area, I used to spend a lot of time up in Napa and Sonoma tasting wine - have not done too much wine drinking the past few years. This might be a good opportunity to pick it up again!

I'm not a wino either, but I try it every so often (less than once a year) just to make sure.
There is one wine I've seen in [livejournal.com profile] picturing_food though, that I'd like to find out here and try. I think I'm more in love with the name of it than any of the other information I read about it - oh, except something about being citrus-y. It's from a small Connecticut vineyard, Sharpe Hill(s?), and the wine is Ballet of Angels.
See? I think it's just the name that has me hooked. I'm thinking I'd be pirouetting around the room in some diaphanous white gown, leaping like a graceful gazelle with my fine crystal glass full of liquid ambrosia of the gods.
That's what old beer drinkers see when they imagine themselves sipping wine.
