Of course, no way did I get out of Costco with only the three things on my list... But, I did pretty well considering... $131 and $45 of that was the membership renewal. I did get the things on my list, plus some food things like chimichungas and eggrolls and fried cheese sticks. And some other odds and ends. I love Costco.

There's a guy at the exit of my Costco who's name is Tony. He's been at that exit door since forever. He's always laughing and having a great time. He has this schickt that is just fun. His job is to check over your items and then mark your reciept that you've been checked. But, what Tony does is guess, before you hand him your receipt, how much the total is. And, he's good. But, I got him today because of the membership. Otherwise he would have been within $5. I told him that it wasn't fair cause I cheated and he said 'heck, I should have remembered your 12 months are up!' I love Costco.

I did not go to the grocery store but on the way to Costco, I did deliver my latest two afghans. I hope to get two more done and delivered before it gets too hot to have them in my lap. I usually have to find something else to knit in the Summer months.

Now I think I'm going to do a little installing of software...

i like it when you find a fixture of a person like that. it seems to give me confidence that as a race, we humans aren't really that bad. overlook the wars, overlook the predjudice and bigotry, go past all that and look at the person.
that entry made me smile and has added to my good day.

Did you tell his supervisor? I feel that if I bitch when something is not right, I also have to make the effort to tell them when something is good. Sort of evens things out. He has made such an impression on you that somebody should know how good he makes you feel.

It's nice to know the guy who's checking out your purchases is really nice. But this is always something that I have hated about Costco, and to a lesser degree Wal Mart. Remember his real job is to make sure you aren't stealing anything. That to me is so very distasteful. I have made it a rule to never shop in a store where everyone who goes there is considered a thief. I have been to a Costco once and will never go back until they remove the thief checker.

Now as to meeting employees that make your day, I'll take that any time, and reward them by telling their supervisor or writing a letter.
