I've had a couple of slow days at work and then I hit on today. It feels like I came in at the usual time (about 6:45) and then I looked at my watch and it was noon.

I've long thought of myself as a pretty resourceful web digger. I just feel like if it's out there, I can find it. One of the first URL's I ever learned - back in 1994 - was Lycos. And I've been a Googler since the first Goo. But this week I've hit a big snag.

I want the carpet replaced in my condo. Not today but maybe next Summer. I have no idea at all what is involved costwise. I figure I have to pay for removal of old, disposal of old, purchase of new, purchase of pad, and all the other work. But, nowhere can I find any kind of guidelines or rules of thumb or any information. I've found a dozen or more sites that tell me to buy the highest quality carpet I can afford. Not too helpful. I seriously don't know if it's going to cost me $2,000, $6,000, $10,000 or more.

I know I could go to a carpet store but that's just silly at this point. I finally broke down and submitted a question to Yahoo Experts. But, I'm really disappointed in myself that I had to resort to this...

So my Mom (79 years old and 3,000 miles away) sent a note saying she was having trouble getting the Mariner game on MLB radio so I hopped over to her computer via PCAnywhere and got it started for her. I got distracted and forgot to close the PCAnywhere screen down.

I can see my computer screen from the couch where I then landed. In a little bit, I glanced over and saw she had my webcam page up and was watching me (which she does while she listens to the game on her computer). It was really kind of stange watching her watching me!

Just finished a funky baby blanket.

Here is a closeup of the edging:

And here's the whole thing:

Used Caron Simply Soft on size 6's. Size is 36" across.

I'm not totally happy with the edging - I'd like it to lay flatter, but it's ok... 1 row single crochet, 1 row double crochet and final row: 1sc, skip st, 1hlf double, skip st, 5dc, skip st - repeat.
