In the past two weeks, two of our grocery store chains here have announced new customer service things that are on opposite ends of the scale.

Prior to this, we had one chain in town that made you carry a card to get the special deals. No thank you. I am totally offended by their requirement that I am not good enough on my own to get their disounts. Quit going there the week they introduced the card.

Now the chain I do frequent most often is going to this supid cards. I usually carry my drivers license, one credit card and a $20 bill with me. If I wanted a fat wallet stuffed with shit, I would get one. I do not. And I really don't want to have to earn special prices by carrying around a stupid card!

A very small chain (they actually may only have one store) this week announced finger print paying. Yup. You sign up and tag a credit card or checking account to your finger print and you are done. All you need to bring with you is your finger!!! Fabulous. Unfortunately, this particular store is not really convenient and doesn't carry a lot of the stuff I like, but they will get my business this weekend - for sure.
