Vacation Girl

I woke up before the radio flipped on. I listened to NPR for a while and dozed. I got up and fed the cats and went back and listened some more and dozed. I got the newspaper and coffee and went back to bed and read and sipped. Only after a long while of all of this, did I get up and get dreassed.

This, my friends, is how you take a vacation. I read the rules, I know.

Next we have some breakfast and then it's time to get out Adele and start her setup. I'm in no hurry because I am on vacation. That's a vacation rule.

Adele is up and running and pretty spectacular!!

I had to partitian off the drive and then upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional. I hit a few snags - all created for me by me but am working them out one by one and things are good. So many things are so much easier with XP. It's amazing how much it knows. The web cams are all up and running. But I need to fiddle, I think, with their positioning. I have some ideas...

I have USB ports to spare - finally! Plus, I rearranged my electrical situation and was able to free up two outlets in the kitchen!

I still have software to reinstall and some other stuff but mainly it's all in and all running. 1GB of memory makes for a seriously efficient machine. 80GB of disk spaces is wasteful - especially when you add my 40GB external harddrive. But, man alive, this sucker is quiet. I had no idea that my other one was so noisey until I unplugged it and took it away. I'm not sure I can stand this much quiet!

Of course minutes after I typed that last entry, I had to reboot and then two of the webcams wouldn't work and now I still can't get one of them to upload... Sigh... I'm going to eat dinner and conjur on this.
