Adele is up and running and pretty spectacular!!

I had to partitian off the drive and then upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional. I hit a few snags - all created for me by me but am working them out one by one and things are good. So many things are so much easier with XP. It's amazing how much it knows. The web cams are all up and running. But I need to fiddle, I think, with their positioning. I have some ideas...

I have USB ports to spare - finally! Plus, I rearranged my electrical situation and was able to free up two outlets in the kitchen!

I still have software to reinstall and some other stuff but mainly it's all in and all running. 1GB of memory makes for a seriously efficient machine. 80GB of disk spaces is wasteful - especially when you add my 40GB external harddrive. But, man alive, this sucker is quiet. I had no idea that my other one was so noisey until I unplugged it and took it away. I'm not sure I can stand this much quiet!

Happy happy vacation day here and another one tomorrow! This rocks.

1 GB of memory, WOW! That sucker must be fast. What speed is the processor? I was thinking of going to 512 of memory for my old home pc.

ADELE!

Adele is a perfect name. How clever.

Adele was the first name of the postmistress of the Dighton Post Office. That is the town I grew up in. Adele knew everyones business and she could stop any of us kids dead in our tracks with her steely gaze.

I remember one time we soaped the POs windows. We thought ourselves so clever. We wrote ADELE LIKE HELL Jerky kids we were.

And that is all I have to say about Adele.

I find it interesting that when those who know so much about computers spend so much time setting them up and maintaining them... I'd rather plug and play and get something done...
and that's all I have to say about Adele too.

Peace and computing

like having an English car... tinkering is part of owning one... it's what the weekends are for in England... I'd rather drive than work on it.... kinda like motorcycles... I've had Honda GoldWings rather than Harleys because I'd rather ride in comfort and quiet than sit beside the highway working on a machine that will be uncomfortable and noisy when it runs again...

Peace and tinkering
