I discoverd today that my web cams haven't been on since Monday afternoon. I have no idea why. About the only downside to living alone, for me, is not having anyone to blame ramdom shit on. Where are those imaginary friends when you need them???

Last week I spotted a guy I used to work for on the street. I didn't actually work for him. I was 'attached' to the team of a guy who worked for him. He - street guy - could never remember my name or who I was. It was pretty funny. Anyway, it was kind of creepy to see him on the street because he quit the company we worked for when they told him he was going to have to move from San Francisco to Seattle (company HQ).

Anyway, I saw him more than once. I saw him with the guy who founded the company we worked for (this is a dot com that bombed). Then Monday I saw another one of the marketing guys going into the building where we used to work. Today I saw the CFO and that was it. I googled up a storm until I finally cracked they case. They are all working at some company doing image something in that same building.

I don't need them on my corner. This is a big town. Go find another corner.

And speaking of fuckchops, one of ours is leaving. Or at least that's the inside skippy. No formal announcements yet so no one should get their hopes up.

I swear I think the job market is coming back. I got a call today from a recruiter asking if I was interested in a 3 months contract for content development at Microsoft. No thank you, but it's been a long time since I've had an unsolicited call about a job. And I'm on a mailing list of technical women in Seattle. This list used to chock full of job notices. Then they got scarce and now they are picking up again. Plus, my very best source for anything and everything, my mailman, says that empty offices are filling up.

Here's hoping my out of work friends get the benefits of this really soon.

I just went home to check on stuff and it's raining!!!! And the housecleaner did the windows today!!! My cup runneth over.

Except for the Mariners. Do they live to torture me?

Then you know they are having a bit of a power situation. We had a blink here at my house but not enough to turn anything off. Then another blink. Again, nothing off. Dave and Ron are saying the lights are out downtown but they are guessing wrong. Took 'em about 10 minutes to get to the 9/11 analogy... holey crimeny guys... shut up.

Nothing is out here, or across the street or in the football stadium or downtown. It's just at the baseball park.

Of course, the Mariners have the lead.

Sigh.

I'm changing hosts and it looks like the domain name has begun to resolve which means that for maybe even a day, all my pictures will be broken and the puzzle page will be broken, too. All will be back as soon as the name get switched to the new host....
