Well, today's flash is that she's in the hospital until Friday at least and she's ok with that... I called her this morning. I asked if she were comfortable and she said that it wasn't really comfortable to breathe but otherwise she was fine. I'm thinking that breathing thing is a deal breaker but what do I know.

She's pretty stressed about my sister and my sister in law. My Sister in Law wanted to come stay with her when she got out of the hospital and Mom doesn't want her to. She made the mistake of telling this to my brother who, apparently, botched the translation when he relayed it to his wife. And we have a festuche. Mom finally talked to Trey yesterday and thinks she patched things up but she's still worried about it.

Then there's my sister who, apparently, is demanding to know every single medical procedure and the details. What she can't get from Mother, she's trying to get from the hospital staff and doctor and is driving them all nuts. My sister the Drama Queen loves hospital drama more than most.

When Mom was in the hospital a few years ago and I was there, her doctor pulled me out into the hallway one day with a very serious look on his face. I thought he was going to deliver the death knell. Instead he showed me a piece of paper with a name on it and said 'I have about 3 dozen phone messages in the last day to call this woman. Do you know her? Can I just blow her off?' I said 'yep, that's my sister and blow away.'

Mom also, for some reason, has got money on the brain. She has some investments that she does not now, fortunately, need. I've been trying for the past 5 years to get her to take them all and turn them over to a financial advisor for safe keeping, growing and general maintenance. She keeps wanting to add the money to Daddy's trust which, of course, isn't possible.

This morning she said there was some piece of paper at home that she has to decide on before July 1 that has to do with some of the money and she's all worried about it. She said 'can't we get someone to take care of all this?' YEP. We can. And I'm on it. Thank you very much.

So... back off from the web cam, Miko's not there today.

I am the typoid mary of cleaners. Either they can't show up when they promise or they can't do a decent job. The one I had for so many years rarely came on the day she originally promised. She had a huge variety of reasons why. I always thought I should number them - get a good system going.

Of course the last people showed up right on time and did a crappier job than I would have.

This morning Miko sends email asking if he can come tomorrow cause he doesn't feel good. (I think that would have been #4 on the excuse list for the original cleaner.)

Maybe the smart money is to run a pool.... $10 to get in and you pick the day that the house cleaner will show up to clean. I'll tell you the day that he said he would but clearly that has no bearing on the actual day. He says he is coming tomorrow for sure. Yeah yeah yeah...

GRRRRRRRRR

It is still too early to go back to afghan knitting so tonight I started on what I hope will be my last pair of socks for the Summer. By the time I finish this pair, it had better be cool enough to do some real knitting. Here's the seven... Three of the pair go to Mom and the rest will warm my tooties over the winter.
