Now, I'm too oriented!
Aug. 24th, 2004 10:28 amYesterday I had the hardest time getting with the program. Today, I'm nothing but the program. As soon as I finish one little thing, another pops up.
The dark in the morning is still hard to get used to and it's way darker because of our rain. I am not complaining about the rain. Nope. It could be a little cooler... cause the raincoat is trapping a lot of heat. But, the rain is good. Tomorrow is supposed to be the rainiest so far.
My Mom called me this morning! She finally got her calling card (the one I had Polly buy for her) working. She's very good and sounds very good. At one point in the conversation she said she was going back to her apartment in two weeks and then later she said she was going back tomorrow.
Then I got an email from my sister (who was directed by Mom to send it). My sister says that the staff is reluctant to tell Mom stuff for fear she'll get depressed. My sister instructed them to tell her everything which was a good thing for her to do. She also noted that the main person who is giving Mom information is just not being careful about what Mom is understanding. I know she's right about this too. I've talked to this woman and she's wonderful but wordy. I'm pretty sure that Mom's just dozing off while she rambles on and so missing the key points...
Oh and my sister also complained about Mom's computer - said she was getting some really obnoxious pop ups and duplicate emails... Well, then back away from the damn machine, you fool!!! I'm going to Norton's Rollback the thing in a little bit. I told her to stay off of it until she saw a note from me that she could use it again.
She's should be using my mantra... 3,000 miles/3 timezones/thankyoujesus - it's the only thing that is saving her eyeballs from being gouged out.
My officemate is out today so at least I don't have to hear about how cold it is. I finally told her yesterday that I would entertain complaints about the cold ONLY from people wearing sweaters and socks. She was in a sleeveless top and sandals and refused the offer of my sweater. I am a bitch. But at least I'm good at something.
